Production Manager (Assembly)

SV Microwave is looking for an out-of-the-box thinker with a high energy level.  If you are organized, detail oriented, able to resolve technical issues, work under pressure and work off hours as needed, consider our Production Manager position

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervision:

  • Manage resources and assigned product line to meet production schedules, prevent bottlenecks, maximize proficiencies and through-put, while achieving quality objectives and stated goals

  • Ensure continued material and product flow; ensure clean and energetic workplace

Technical/Customer Support:

  • Review and disposition MDRs for assembly activities, identify root cause, and implement preventive and corrective actions

  • Assure accuracy of documentation

  • Improve training and documentation as required to maintain compliance with AS9100

  • Initiate productivity and quality improvement

  • Troubleshoot assembly problems and resolve any tooling issues

  • Interface with customer representatives as required

  • Coordinate resolution of technical issues in cooperation with other departments

  • Provide order status updates and resolve problems

  • Support training and documentation of assembly in off-shore, low cost assembly facilities (if applicable)

Administration/Personnel:

  • Participate in the Strategic Planning Process

  • Delegate work and ensure proper reporting on time cards, and travelers

  • Set work and vacation schedules

  • Interview and hire qualified employees for the department

  • Complete departmental employee reviews (yearly) and more frequently when necessary

  • Ensure employees' adherence to company policies

Cost Controls:

  • Meet monthly, quarterly, and yearly department budget established

  • Monitor variance reports and take necessary corrective action

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to learn/navigate an ERP system

  • Ability to read blueprints

  • Ability to develop production processes

  • Knowledge and experience in single piece flow concept

  • Knowledge of measuring devices and their operation, micrometers, calipers, drop gauges, etc.

  • Minimum five years of supervision/managerial experience in precision mechanical assembly procedures

  • Successful implementation of semi-automated and automated assembly operations

  • Technical education

 

DESIRED (but not required):

  • Tooling knowledge

  • College degree

  • Working ability of Fourth Shift MRP system
